Where: a specialised maintenance setting in Western Australia linked to aviation, covering fleet vehicles plus Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
Who they want: qualified mechanics whose CV is backed by genuine hands-on work, technical skill and a strong employment history. The job title by itself is not enough.
Why it stands out: the work goes well beyond a normal workshop shift. You will put diagnostic, mechanical and breakdown-maintenance skills to use on a range of equipment types.
Sponsorship: offered to suitable overseas candidates meeting the trade and employment criteria. Pakistani applicants should arrange a police character certificate early, as a Police Clearance must be obtainable.
Key Responsibilities
- Fault diagnosis: troubleshoot mechanical, diesel and hydraulic systems and repair on the basis of accurate findings
- Servicing: inspect and look after fleet vehicles, GSE and other specialised equipment
- Planned work: carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs
- Call-outs: attend breakdowns and urgent mechanical jobs, helping teammates with breakdown, servicing and repair work
- Condition checks: assess equipment and pick up developing mechanical issues
- Standards: every repair completed to the set safety and quality benchmarks
- Paperwork: log service and maintenance work accurately; report finished jobs, faults found and extra repairs required
- Teamwork: operate independently yet communicate well with the broader crew
- Tools: keep tools and gear safe and fit for use
- Safety: comply with workplace, operational and specialised aviation safety procedures
- Client contact: present the organisation professionally to clients and site personnel
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade qualification: Light Vehicle Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Approximately 5 years or more of relevant industry background preferred
- Demonstrated practical mechanical work on light or heavy vehicles
- Capacity to prove genuine, practical trade experience
- Licence: current HR Driver’s Licence
- Fault-finding and diagnostics: strong mechanical skills
- Work ethic: reliable and professional, with strong attention to safety and quality
- Comfortable working alone or in a team; good communication and organisational skills
- Police Clearance: able to obtain one
- Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC): able to obtain one
- Drug and alcohol screening: able to pass
- Able to operate in a specialised, safety-critical environment
- Heavy equipment or fleet maintenance background: advantageous
- Diesel mechanical background: advantageous
- Hydraulic systems experience: advantageous
- Breakdown maintenance work: advantageous
- Welding: advantageous
- Ground Support Equipment or aviation-sector exposure: advantageous
- Sponsorship: applicants who require it may be considered depending on qualifications, experience and overall suitability
