Key Responsibilities
- Build one-off fabricated and welded pieces in steel, aluminium and stainless steel to a high standard
- Work from shop drawings, technical plans and job specifications
- Decide which welding techniques and fabrication methods each task needs
- Operate workshop machines, equipment and tools safely
- Go out on installation and field jobs as needed
- Tackle problems with hands-on trade solutions
- Partner with project teams to hit deadlines and quality goals, keeping your work precise, careful and professional
- Comply with every health and safety requirement
- Pass on ideas and technical know-how to help the business keep improving
Requirements & Eligibility
- A trade qualification in Metal Fabrication, Boilermaking, Welding or a comparable field
- Demonstrated background in professional welding and fabrication shops, able to show off solid technical skill and earlier projects
- Competent at interpreting engineering drawings
- Has worked with a range of metals and fabrication processes
- Strongly committed to safety at work, reliability and quality
- Effective solo or in a team, solving problems practically with an eye for detail
- Open to mainly workshop work with some site-based duties from time to time
- Overseas-qualified tradespeople with verifiable experience are encouraged to apply
- Employer sponsorship may be possible for candidates who meet the skill, qualification and experience requirements
