Operations Manager
Trade · Christchurch Central, Canterbury, New Zealand · Full-Time · $25/hr
A title alone does not make a strong technical leader. What sets one apart is the standard they hold, the people they develop and the calls they can be trusted with. This senior operations role in Christchurch Central is for an experienced technical professional ready for that next step.
Your remit:
- converting technical capability into field delivery that stays reliable across multiple New Zealand sites
- coordinating staff and resources and managing how operations perform
- guarding compliance standards, and getting involved personally when technical oversight is called for
Practical experience counts, as do judgement, commercial awareness and the ability to lead people in different locations without losing consistency. Prepare an English CV that sets out the teams you have led and the sites you managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Run technical operations day to day at multiple sites, leading a team that is spread across different areas
- Plan the workforce and resources around scheduled inspection and compliance programmes
- Drive consistency in service delivery, safety and technical quality, building a strong health and safety culture in the field
- Keep watch on work in progress, job margins and how fully the team is utilised
- Match inspectors with the right experience to individual assignments after assessing capability, and control authorised work scopes and accreditation requirements strictly
- Take charge of escalated or complex client issues
- Supervise technical work on site yourself when more capacity or expertise is required
- Partner closely with finance, compliance and technical services
- Forecast future resource and capability requirements, and back continuous improvement in operational processes
- Help the business grow sustainably without compromising technical standards
