Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles for accident and body damage and work out suitable repair and restoration procedures
- Take off damaged panels, parts and components
- Fix or swap out panels where needed
- Straighten and realign vehicle body structures, restoring them to shape
- Handle welding and metalworking jobs using specialist panel tools and workshop gear
- Liaise with mechanics and spray painters to bring each repair to completion
- Examine finished work for accuracy, safety and the quality of the finish
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe workshop, following every relevant workplace health and safety procedure
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 5 years in relevant panel beating work
- Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent
- Sound practical command of automotive body repair techniques
- Experienced with professional panel beating and repair equipment
- Can identify damage and pick the right repair method
- Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on quality
- Communicates well and works effectively in a team, meeting workshop timeframes efficiently
- Valid driver's licence
- Qualification and employment history that can be verified
- For a suitable international candidate, Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Subclass 482 sponsorship may be available
