Poultry Farm Manager

Position: Poultry Farm Manager at a commercial broiler farm in New South Wales.
Scope: you take charge of the whole production cycle and lead the farm team, supported by experienced operational and technical staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Run the broiler production cycle end to end, from bird placement until collection
- Direct the farm team to hit daily production needs, building staff rosters and handing out duties
- Check bird health, welfare and growth, and track how the flock is performing overall
- Control feed, water, ventilation and shed conditions
- Study production figures through farm management systems and data, and fix problems when results slip
- Apply strong biosecurity measures farm-wide and make sure animal welfare and workplace health and safety standards are met every day
- Plan shed preparation, cleaning and turnaround between batches
- Supervise upkeep of feeding, drinking, ventilation and generator systems
- Pick up equipment or operational faults and book the right maintenance
- Keep farm, production and compliance records correct
- Deal with vets, technical specialists and processor reps, and report progress and performance clearly to senior management
- Cover after-hours and on-call duties and push for continuous improvement in farm operations
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercial broiler poultry experience
- Earlier work as a Poultry Farm Manager or an experienced 2IC
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a team on a farm
- Strong hands-on understanding of poultry production and flock management
- Knowledge of climate-control and ventilation systems
- Understanding of the biosecurity and welfare requirements that apply to poultry
- Ability to read production data and make sensible operational decisions from it
- Good skills in communication, organisation and record-keeping
- Able to use computers and the relevant farm management systems
- A steady, reliable approach when operational challenges arise
- Current driver’s licence
- Willing to live on site and available to join an after-hours and on-call roster
- Genuine commitment to animal welfare, workplace safety and production standards; visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates who meet the required criteria
