Auckland, New Zealand: a leading global technology company is hiring a Product Engineer – New Product Introduction (NPI).
Purpose of the role: taking innovative electronic products from first concept all the way to production at full scale.
Working style: close partnership with supply chain, quality, manufacturing and engineering teams to build efficient manufacturing processes, lift product quality and sustain production excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Guide new products through the move from prototype to full production
- Partner with purchasing, quality, manufacturing and engineering teams across product development
- Develop, validate and refine manufacturing processes for mechanical and electronic products
- Support production equipment, fixtures and manufacturing test systems
- Investigate testing, manufacturing and product quality problems through structured root cause analysis, then drive corrective and preventive actions that improve reliability and manufacturing performance
- Review production data for chances to improve cost, quality and efficiency, and back lean manufacturing and continuous process improvement projects
- Prepare and maintain test plans, manufacturing procedures, engineering documentation and engineering change records
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners and suppliers on production readiness and ongoing improvement
- Provide technical support during production and help with sustaining engineering work
- Travel internationally on occasion as required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical and electronics manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing readiness and new product introduction (NPI) processes
- Experience troubleshooting, supporting or developing production equipment and manufacturing test fixtures
- Knowledge of quality systems, assembly processes, inventory management and electronics manufacturing, plus the ability to analyse processes and bring in quality and productivity improvements
- Experience with PCB assembly manufacturing and electronic production testing is highly desirable
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management systems or engineering documentation is advantageous
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills for effective work across cross-functional teams, including professional English communication
- Willing to travel internationally from time to time
