Project Engineer

Who is wanted: a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer with construction experience, for large civil, marine and recreational developments in Western Australia (Perth WA base).
What counts: proven, verifiable capability rather than a title. That means the right engineering qualifications, hands-on site experience and the ability to coordinate projects. Engineers in this team are trusted with ownership.
The work: a technically varied mix of construction activity. You will coordinate contractors, manage the interfaces between packages and resolve problems before they hit delivery. Sound practical judgement is valued as highly as technical knowledge.
Sponsorship: available for suitably qualified international professionals. Applicants from Pakistan should keep degree certificates and employer reference letters ready in English, as verified experience is central to this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Own your assigned construction activities and their outcomes, running daily site work and tracking construction progress
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and specialist trades, and act as the link to clients, consultants, contractors and other relevant stakeholders
- Support project programming, scheduling and cost control
- Manage the interfaces between civil, marine, structural and public realm works
- Supervise specialist works such as piling, fender systems and revetments, as well as drainage, landscaping and related civil construction
- Assess construction requirements, develop practical ways to deliver them and look for improvements in constructability, efficiency and project outcomes
- Keep ITPs, HIRACs, inspection records and other quality documentation in order
- Check compliance with environmental, safety and quality requirements
- Guide and support graduate and junior engineering staff
- Keep accurate project records and report on construction progress
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Project Engineer level: 2–4 years of experience in marine or civil construction
- Senior Project Engineer positions: relevant senior-level experience in project delivery and construction
- Previous site-based engineering experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience coordinating construction teams and subcontractors
- Understanding of quality assurance, cost management and project scheduling
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with good documentation and organisational skills
- Able to interpret construction requirements and fix practical problems on site
- Strong commitment to quality standards and workplace safety
- A proactive approach, the ability to take ownership of responsibilities, and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary construction teams
- Genuine interest in delivering major infrastructure and community-focused projects
