Project Engineer

Vacancy: a capable Project Engineer, full-time.
Selection basis: skills, qualifications and practical project experience that can be verified. The contractor wants engineers with a solid structural construction background who can contribute with confidence to delivering high-rise buildings.

Key Responsibilities
- Run daily engineering and construction activity on large building projects, assisting senior project staff with coordination and delivery
- Plan formwork and concrete structural works and track their progress
- Coordinate construction teams, suppliers and subcontractors, and manage technical matters between subcontractors, engineers and consultants
- Examine drawings, specifications and engineering documentation
- Contribute to construction planning, programming and sequencing, and measure progress against key milestones and project schedules
- Support project reporting and contract administration, keeping documentation, records and progress reports accurate
- Find construction issues early and help develop workable technical solutions
- Monitor quality so the works comply with project requirements
- Keep communication open between the site and project stakeholders
- Help complete construction works safely, efficiently and on time
Requirements & Eligibility
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Construction Management, with 2–5+ years of relevant post-graduate construction experience
- Proven experience with concrete structures and formwork
- Experience on large-scale building, commercial or high-rise projects
- A background working with a construction subcontractor, plus strong capability in subcontractor coordination and management
- Understanding of work sequencing and construction programming
- Experience with contract administration
- Good organisational, communication and technical skills
- Able to demonstrate and verify your relevant professional experience and qualifications
- Relevant overseas construction experience is welcomed
- Able to satisfy Australian employment and sponsorship requirements; sponsorship available for suitable candidates with verified and relevant experience
