Position: Project Manager in charge of a major underground hard rock mining operation in Brisbane QLD. Reporting line: the Operations Manager.
Scope: safety, production, financial results, client relationships, operating standards and workforce development all sit under your oversight. Commercial judgement and practical, decisive leadership will keep project delivery efficient and successful.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead every underground mining activity, from development through to production
- Set the tone on safety through visible leadership, and push for excellence in safety, productivity and quality
- Hit operational targets safely, efficiently and on budget
- Own project budgets, forecasts, cost control and overall financial results
- Track how the operation performs, introduce continuous improvement and handle contract administration, reporting and performance monitoring
- Deploy mining equipment and site resources to get the most productivity from them
- Recruit, mentor and grow high-performing site and leadership teams, including workforce and succession planning
- Keep client relationships strong through clear communication and close collaboration
- Spot operational risks early and put practical controls in place
- Make sure the operation complies with mining legislation, company policies and safety systems
- Foster a positive workplace culture built on teamwork and continuous improvement
Requirements & Eligibility
- Extensive background in underground hard rock mining operations, covering both underground development and production environments
- Prior experience in a senior mining site leadership or project management position, including project management and operational reporting
- A Mining Engineering qualification or another relevant tertiary qualification
- Strong track record managing underground mining contracts and client relationships
- Proven skills in budgeting, financial management and commercial decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to lead and build high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Solid understanding of underground mining safety systems and compliance requirements
- Able to relocate internationally
- Previous international mining leadership experience will be highly regarded
- A Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency or an Underground Supervisor's Certificate of Competency will each be highly regarded
- Experience using mining management software will be advantageous
