Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of clinical care during your rostered shifts, setting priorities and handling clinical duties efficiently
- Deliver individualised, safe and respectful nursing to every resident
- Carry out health assessments, monitor residents closely and adapt as their care needs shift
- Uphold residents' dignity and comfort and promote a good quality of life
- Provide ward-level direction to care staff, mentor colleagues and support their ongoing development
- Partner with carers, other nurses and allied healthcare professionals
- Document clinical information accurately and keep relevant records complete
- Follow sound aged care clinical procedures and practices, drawing on your AN-ACC knowledge
- Support residents through palliative and end-of-life care
- Speak with residents, families and co-workers in a professional manner and contribute to high standards of care and service
- Cover a rotating mix of morning, afternoon and night shifts
Requirements & Eligibility
- Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA that is current, together with a recognised nursing qualification suitable for practice in Australia
- Demonstrated background in aged care or a comparable clinical environment
- Palliative care experience or knowledge
- Working knowledge of AN-ACC
- Demonstrated experience mentoring teams or providing leadership
- Strong communication, both verbal and written, plus excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Committed to person-centred care
- Works confidently both on their own and within a team
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate, and a current Australian driver's licence
- Able to satisfy or obtain National Police Check requirements
- International applicants must meet Australian nursing registration requirements, and must satisfy applicable employer sponsorship and visa criteria
- Prepared to work a rotating roster covering every shift type
