Key Responsibilities
- Give residents evidence-based nursing care of a high quality
- Assess residents' health, monitor it closely and act on any changes
- Administer clinical treatments and medications with safety and accuracy
- Write, put in place and regularly review personalised care plans
- Lead, mentor and supervise personal care and nursing teams, guiding Enrolled Nurses, Graduate Nurses and Care Workers in their daily practice
- Work with medical practitioners, families and allied health professionals, keeping resident records and clinical documentation accurate
- Promote best practice in clinical governance and infection prevention
- Ensure professional nursing requirements and aged care standards are met, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives in the facility
- Complete mandatory training and continuing education
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor of Nursing qualification
- Current unrestricted AHPRA Registered Nurse registration
- Current CPR and First Aid certificates
- Residential aged care experience is highly regarded
- Strong care planning and clinical assessment abilities
- Knowledge of infection control practices and Australian aged care standards
- Excellent leadership, teamwork and communication skills, together with a commitment to compassionate, ethical, resident-focused care
- Current National Police Check, or willing to obtain one
- Current influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations as the employer requires
