Rope Access Technician

Employer: a specialist technical services company in North Shore City, Auckland, New Zealand. Wanted: experienced Rope Access Technicians who have consistently worked safely and productively in tough conditions.
Recognised qualifications and checkable industry experience must stand behind your skills. No two projects are the same: expect buildings, industrial plants and large infrastructure, with tasks ranging from structural inspections at height to maintenance, remedial jobs and safety-system installs. Working beside a capable crew, you can broaden your technical background.
Technicians applying from Pakistan should keep copies of their IRATA certificate and employment records ready, along with an English CV.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on industrial rope access jobs across a range of sites
- Inspect structures, buildings and façades, and help on bridge and infrastructure inspection projects
- Carry out industrial maintenance, inspection and repairs, as well as waterproofing and remedial projects
- Install, inspect and maintain height-safety systems, and rig and check rope access equipment and work-at-height systems
- Get into elevated, restricted and awkward-to-reach areas safely
- Judge site conditions and find practical answers to access and work problems
- Keep project records, photos and site documents accurate
- Apply the relevant rope access standards and workplace safety rules, with high-quality workmanship on every assigned project
- Deal professionally with supervisors, colleagues and clients
- Work independently without letting the required safety and quality standards slip
- Travel to project sites across New Zealand as needed, including occasional overnight trips with accommodation and applicable allowances provided
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current and valid IRATA Rope Access qualification
- The New Zealand Certificate in Industrial Rope Access (Level 4) is also considered
- Minimum 2 years of practical rope access experience that can be verified
- Proof of rope access-based work carried out professionally, plus documents that back up your qualifications and relevant work history
- Sound knowledge of how to work safely at height, and a strong personal sense of responsibility for safety and quality
- Confident on demanding sites where conditions keep changing, and practical at solving problems
- Able to work alone and as part of a technical team
- Professional communication skills
- Current driver's licence is advantageous but not essential
- Professional-level English is advantageous but not essential
- Relevant trade qualifications or trade experience are advantageous
- Extra training covering construction, inspection, industrial or height-safety work is advantageous
- Willing to travel within New Zealand when projects require it
- Able to meet relevant New Zealand immigration requirements where sponsorship is required
