Service Technician

Role: Service Technician, Adelaide, South Australia. Field: servicing overhead cranes, gantries, hoists and other industrial lifting systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Find electrical faults on hoists, overhead cranes and industrial lifting gear, using diagnostic skill to sort out even complex problems
- Handle breakdown repairs and emergency callouts
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and electrical inspections, servicing equipment to the required standards
- Commission, test and troubleshoot crane control systems, working with motors, PLCs, VSDs, contactors, limit switches and related controls
- Write up accurate service reports and maintenance records
- Visit customer sites in regional and metropolitan areas, with interstate trips from time to time when required
- Take part in a rotating on-call roster and work extra hours and guaranteed overtime as needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Cert III in Electrotechnology or an equivalent qualification
- Current Electrical Licence or Provisional Electrical Licence
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician, including hands-on PLC fault-finding
- Demonstrated ability to work out electrical problems on your own
- Practical background with control systems and industrial motors, plus strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
- Can work independently and still keep customer relationships professional
- Willing to learn the technology behind overhead cranes and lifting equipment
- Willing to travel approximately 10–30% of the time outside metropolitan areas
- Suitable candidates with relevant experience and verified qualifications may be considered for sponsorship
