Employer: an established infrastructure construction company delivering structural concrete and civil infrastructure projects in the ACT.
The engineer they need: someone with genuine site-based experience and sound technical knowledge who can carry engineering and quality requirements from construction right through to completion.
Day-to-day input: working alongside project management and site delivery teams on quality assurance, technical coordination, construction planning, documentation and daily progress.

Key Responsibilities
- Engineering lead on structural concrete and civil infrastructure packages, backing crews during reinforcement, formwork and concrete pours
- Liaise between project managers, supervisors and construction crews on engineering needs
- Run the project's QA procedures and ITP requirements
- Process inspection requests and manage hold and witness points, keeping quality records complete
- Compile lot documentation, conformance records and handover files, and keep all engineering, quality and project records correct
- Spot non-conformances, document them and help resolve them
- Study construction drawings, structural details, specifications and project requirements
- Raise RFIs and work through technical questions with clients, consultants and contractors
- Assist with site setout, verify built works and confirm reinforcement installation matches approved drawings and specifications
- Compare progress with the project program, report potential delays and organise the materials, plant and consumables that planned work needs
- Attend site inspections, coordination meetings and progress reviews
- Act as a technical resource for site supervision and construction teams
- Help meet site safety and environmental compliance obligations
- Partner with head contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders on quality, program and delivery targets, and suggest improvements to engineering and construction processes
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years working as a Site Engineer in Australian construction, on structural concrete or civil infrastructure jobs
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a Structural Engineering-related field
- Proven, practical grasp of how construction engineering and site delivery work
- Sound command of QA systems, ITPs, inspection regimes and construction paperwork
- Reads and interprets structural drawings and technical specs
- Has handled RFIs, technical queries and non-conformance processes
- Communicates strongly in writing and in person, and keeps documents well organised
- White Card and a current driver's licence
- Can obtain the required ACT site inductions plus clearances for project access
- Comfortable and effective on live construction sites, with a professional, dependable attitude
- Works well in teams and communicates effectively with stakeholders
- Eager to keep learning and growing professionally
- Highly regarded: a background in bridge construction
- Highly regarded: dam, spillway or water infrastructure projects
- Highly regarded: having worked for Tier 1 or Tier 2 head contractors
- Highly regarded: hands-on reinforcement scheduling, procurement, fixing supervision and quality control
