Role: Sous Chef at a high-quality, well-established restaurant in Braddon, Canberra ACT.
The restaurant wants an experienced Chef with a passion for hospitality, someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in outstanding food and guest experiences. Both full-time and part-time positions are on offer, with flexible working arrangements.
Chefs in Pakistan who plan to apply should prepare an English CV, and take an English test such as IELTS or PTE if the visa or employer requires one.
Key Responsibilities
- Cook and plate high-quality dishes to the restaurant's set standards, checking quality from prep through to presentation
- Contribute to planning and developing menus
- Show cooking techniques and guide others on how food should be prepared
- Train, supervise and mentor kitchen staff
- Uphold strict food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
- Work with the kitchen team for smooth, efficient service and handle your workload well when it gets busy
- Help improve kitchen operations and food quality over time
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience as a Chef
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation
- Works effectively within a professional kitchen team and has experience training and supervising kitchen staff
- A professional attitude, with excellent reliability and punctuality
- Performs well under pressure when the kitchen is fast-paced
- Good communication skills with professional working-level English proficiency
- Committed to high-quality food and service, and willing to learn, grow and develop within the hospitality industry
- Australian work rights or eligibility for visa sponsorship
