Key Responsibilities
- Hair services: professional cutting, styling and colour treatments matched to what each client wants
- Consultation: assess client needs and recommend the right professional options
- Consistency: produce high-quality results across every service and take responsibility for the standard of finished work
- Client base: build relationships with new and returning clients and grow a loyal personal clientele
- Bookings: keep your appointment book organised and productive
- Experience: give every client a welcoming, professional visit
- Salon standards: keep hygiene, presentation and workplace standards high
- Teamwork: work alongside other stylists and salon staff, sharing knowledge and supporting a positive team atmosphere
- Learning: attend professional training and hair education, and stay current with techniques, products and industry trends
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on professional cutting and colouring
- Qualification: NZ Level 4 Hairdressing Certificate or an internationally recognised equivalent; relevant experienced candidates may be considered where formal qualifications differ
- Practical skill: demonstrable hairdressing ability backed by genuine work experience, and confidence delivering professional cutting and colouring services
- Client skills: strong consultation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to earn trust and keep long-term client relationships
- Attitude: professional about customer service and workplace responsibilities
- Teamwork: able to work well as part of a team
- Development: willing to take on continuing technical and professional development
- Evidence: able to provide genuine proof supporting qualifications and past employment
- Visa conditions: Applicants must meet the relevant requirements for sponsored employment in New Zealand
