A professional hospitality group in Sydney has an opening for a Tandoori and Curry Chef. The role sits in a high-volume Indian kitchen and covers three main areas of work.
First, you run the tandoor section and produce its breads and grills. Second, you prepare the curries, marinades and base sauces that the menu depends on. Third, you support the wider kitchen by training junior staff, controlling waste and helping with new dishes. The position is full-time and stable, and sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for running and managing the Tandoor section
- Produce naan, roti, kebabs, tikka and other tandoori dishes
- Prepare a wide range of Indian curries, both authentic and contemporary
- Complete marinades, gravies, sauces, stocks and mise en place before service
- Maintain consistency, portion control and presentation, and work efficiently in high-volume service
- Follow food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
- Control wastage and support stock management
- Assist with menu development and new dishes, and train junior kitchen staff
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
- Strong experience on the Tandoor section and the Curry section
- Excellent knowledge of Indian spices
- Excellent knowledge of marinades and Indian cooking techniques
- Previous work in a busy, high-volume restaurant
- Strong knife skills
- Strong preparation skills
- Ability to keep quality and consistency under pressure
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene
- Reliable and professional, with strong teamwork and communication
- Availability for evening and weekend shifts as required
