Key Responsibilities
- Oversee person-centred care so every resident is treated safely and respectfully, according to what they need, prefer and aim for
- Direct and assist care workers during the shifts allocated to you, giving guidance whenever it is needed
- Organise what residents require in the area you are given
- Liaise with clinical and nursing colleagues to keep care continuous
- Promote each resident's emotional, social and physical wellbeing
- Keep watch over residents' hydration and nutrition and help them with it
- Give medication and assist with medication tasks, staying inside the scope of practice you are authorised for
- Join in pressure care management and other clinical activities
- Maintain correct care documentation and work with the relevant technology and systems
- Make sure the team communicates clearly and effectively
- Meet health and safety obligations at work, uphold strict infection prevention and control, and foster a resident-focused, supportive and professional culture
Requirements & Eligibility
- Diploma of Enrolled Nursing, or a recognised qualification that is equivalent
- Current AHPRA registration, in the category of Endorsed Enrolled Nurse
- Authorisation to give medication inside the relevant professional scope
- National Police Check that is current
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or a willingness to get one)
- Evidence of your registration and professional qualifications, ready to provide
- Integrity, reliability and accountability as a professional
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication
- Capable of supervising, guiding and supporting fellow care workers
- Dedication to aged care that is compassionate and person-centred
- Familiar with infection prevention and control procedures and with safe practices for workplace health and safety
- Comfortable using workplace information systems and relevant technology, and keen to keep learning and developing professionally
- Experience in residential aged care before now will be highly regarded
- Visa sponsorship may be considered for International candidates who satisfy the verified eligibility requirements
