Key Responsibilities
- Integrate and commission RF and transmission systems, then test them and take them through network acceptance
- Mount, set up and switch on antennas, radios, transmission gear, microwave links, feeder cabling, outdoor cabinets and related hardware
- Back up tower upgrade work, new equipment fit-outs, structural changes and network expansion jobs
- Write up commissioning reports, test records and carrier acceptance paperwork so they meet industry requirements
- Troubleshoot and fix technical problems that appear while installing, commissioning or integrating, and follow workplace safety and health procedures, permits, risk controls and quality assurance rules throughout
- Go wherever the project is, from capital cities to regional and remote parts of Australia, coordinating with engineers, project managers and field crews to get the job delivered
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven track record as a Telecommunications Field Engineer, backed by strong expertise in RF and transmission integration
- Has commissioned telecommunications equipment and prepared carrier acceptance documentation
- Holds a current Intermediate or Advanced Rigging qualification
- Holds current certifications in Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform (EWP) and First Aid
- Hands-on work on telecommunications towers, structural steel installs or infrastructure upgrades
- Ready for extensive travel across Australia, regional and remote sites included
- Current driver's licence (extra heavy vehicle licences or relevant industry tickets are advantageous)
- Knows safety, quality and Australian telecommunications industry standards well, and is an excellent troubleshooter, communicator and team member
- Employer sponsorship can be offered to suitably qualified applicants from overseas who satisfy Australian migration requirements
