Scope of work: diagnostics, servicing, repairs, rebuilds and breakdown assistance across a wide range of heavy vehicles. Successful candidates get ongoing training focused on manufacturers, modern workshop facilities and room to advance their technical careers.

Key Responsibilities
- Find and diagnose faults on heavy commercial vehicles and their systems, resolving mechanical problems efficiently
- Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Handle mechanical repairs, swap out components and complete rebuilds, always to manufacturer specifications
- Inspect and test each vehicle once repairs are finished
- Fill in job cards and workshop records accurately
- Go out to breakdowns at customer sites or other offsite locations as required, and take your turn on the workshop on-call roster
- Keep safety, workmanship and technical accuracy at a high standard
- Cooperate with fellow technicians and workshop staff, and help train and develop apprentices on the job
- Explain completed work to customers in a professional way
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised Heavy Vehicle Mechanic qualification or another relevant mechanical qualification
- Proven hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, which you can demonstrate and verify
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical diagnostic skills
- Good grasp of quality and safety procedures in a workshop
- Reliable and focused on the team, with professional customer service and communication
- Current car licence
- HR licence is desirable
- Forklift licence is desirable
- Kenworth or DAF experience is desirable
- Experienced heavy vehicle mechanics from overseas, and from interstate, are encouraged and welcome to apply
- Mechanic apprentices in their second to fourth year may also be considered
- Willing to complete ongoing manufacturer and technical training, and able to supply documents supporting your qualifications and employment history
