Venue: a gastropub preparing to open in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Openings: three Bartenders for the launch team.
The owners want experienced bar professionals with proven hands-on skills and a strong focus on the customer. You should be able to show genuine time behind a bar, a good understanding of drinks service and the confidence to play your part when a hospitality floor moves fast.

Key Responsibilities
- Make cocktails to the venue's recipes and standards, and prepare and present a full range of drinks with and without alcohol
- Pour wine, beer and spirits backed by sound product knowledge
- Look after customers with warm, professional service, speaking with confidence and responding to what they need
- Run the POS system, process transactions accurately, help with cash handling and complete end-of-shift procedures
- Keep an eye on drink supplies and tidy stock levels, helping with ordering, inventory control and stock rotation
- Keep the bar and every service area spotless, and handle opening and closing tasks as required
- Apply responsible alcohol service procedures and the relevant New Zealand regulations, working well with colleagues when service is busy
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of relevant bartending experience at a professional level
- Demonstrated practical skill in beverage service and making cocktails, with a working knowledge of wine, beer and spirits
- Able to supply evidence of relevant employment experience where required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Confident and reliable in a busy hospitality setting, with a professional approach
- Available for public holidays, weekends and evenings
- Applicants must satisfy the New Zealand immigration requirements that apply
- Sponsorship available for eligible overseas applicants, subject to immigration requirements and job check approval
- Applicants already in New Zealand may be considered for a Job Change or Variation of Conditions where applicable
- Where an English test is required, applicants must meet current Immigration New Zealand requirements or an accepted exemption
