Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and keep every visit professional, dealing with their requests politely and referring problems upward when needed
- Look after your allocated section during busy trading, serving food and drinks efficiently without letting quality drop
- Write down each order correctly, brief the right team on what the guest needs, and put orders and payments through the POS accurately
- Bring dishes and drinks out quickly, help run plates during peak periods and carry several plates at once safely
- Lay each table ahead of service and clear and re-lay it once a sitting finishes
- Help diners choose from the menu and drinks list, using what you know about food, wine and beverages to make their visit better
- Stay in close contact with the kitchen, the bar and the rest of the floor team
- Keep the dining room clean, tidy and presentable, and follow responsible service, hygiene and safety procedures
- Be a cooperative member of a strong-performing hospitality crew
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated work as restaurant waitstaff or in serving food and drinks
- A hospitality qualification that is relevant, or industry experience of an equivalent level
- Proven performance on a high-volume restaurant floor, including confident handling of several tables and sittings
- A customer-first service attitude backed by excellent spoken and people skills
- Fluent English communication
- Able to carry three plates safely
- Current RSA Certificate, plus earlier use of computerised POS systems
- Knowing wine and beverages well will be highly regarded
- Neat, professional grooming; dependable, honest and well-spoken
- Sharp attention to detail and calm under pressure
- Availability that can flex across weekdays, evenings and weekends, and a willingness to support a professional team
- Sponsorship-seeking overseas applicants may be considered if their skills, experience and visa eligibility satisfy the requirements
