Warehouse Manager

Vacancy: Warehouse Manager, Mangere, Auckland, New Zealand. Full-time, with an established distribution operation.
This is more than a stock and dispatch role. You will be responsible for:
- leading and developing people
- improving systems and keeping the site compliant
- managing logistics partners
- keeping the whole warehouse running efficiently
Applicants should be experienced logistics professionals who can show real leadership, sound operational knowledge and a record of reliable warehouse results. Candidates from Pakistan and other countries should prepare an English CV that sets out team sizes and systems used in past roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the efficient daily running of the warehouse, including facilities, equipment and resources
- Motivate, lead and grow supervisors and warehouse staff, and handle recruitment, onboarding, training and performance monitoring
- Plan labour and resources each day around orders, shipments and priorities
- Keep inventory records accurate and organise scheduled stocktakes
- Track DIFOT, KPIs, productivity and service delivery
- Review layouts to make better use of space and storage capacity
- Coordinate devanning of import containers and related receiving work
- Liaise with Customs, freight and shipping companies and other logistics partners
- Carry out MPI Facility Operator or Accredited Person duties where required
- Keep digital workflows accurate in the WMS and connected IT platforms
- Work closely with Sales, Finance, IT and other departments, and oversee outside suppliers and service providers
- Lead Health & Safety practice and build a strong safety culture
- Find inefficiencies and put practical improvements in place
- Shape a culture of accountability, teamwork, reliability and continuous improvement
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager, Distribution Manager or senior warehouse professional, including demonstrated leadership of warehouse teams and operational staff
- Strong knowledge of warehouse planning, inventory management and stock accuracy
- Experience with imports, international freight and container handling
- Understanding of MPI processes and New Zealand compliance requirements is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of, and practical commitment to, workplace Health & Safety
- Excellent communication and people management
- Confident problem solving and decision making
- Able to handle pressure and competing priorities in a busy distribution setting
- Close attention to detail and commitment to operational accuracy
- Good IT skills, with experience of WMS or integrated warehouse systems in paperless or technology-enabled warehouses
- Commercial understanding of operational costs, resource allocation and productivity
- Reliable, punctual, professional and committed to high standards
- Genuine evidence of your qualifications, experience and professional history for verification
- Must satisfy the applicable New Zealand employment, immigration and sponsorship requirements
