Warehouse Storeperson

The business: an established construction and building supplies company in New South Wales.
The role: an experienced Warehouse Operator to keep daily warehouse operations running smoothly. Expect more than driving a forklift or picking and packing: you will be trusted with materials handling, customer order preparation, stock accuracy, delivery support and keeping the site safe and efficient.

Key Responsibilities
- Daily priorities: own the warehouse to-do list and make sure orders go out correctly and on time
- Forklift work: drive forklifts safely to receive, store and shift materials
- Inbound stock: unload, receive and check deliveries as they arrive
- Orders: pick, check and prepare customer orders, then palletise, label, shrink-wrap and secure goods for transport
- Loading: place materials safely on trucks and other vehicles
- Layout: arrange products so stock is easy to find and quick to dispatch
- Local runs: drop off and pick up construction materials at nearby work sites
- Records and counts: log warehouse equipment movements and help with stock monitoring and scheduled stocktakes
- Housekeeping and safety: keep the warehouse clean, tidy and safe, following workplace health and safety procedures
- Communication: deal professionally with customers, drivers and site personnel
Requirements & Eligibility
- Warehouse background: previous hands-on experience
- Forklift skills: strong, practical operating experience
- Licence: a current Australian LF forklift licence, or eligibility to obtain the required licence
- Lifting: able to handle materials of up to 25kg safely
- People skills: good communication and customer service
- Self-management: work independently, organise daily priorities and pay strong attention to detail and stock accuracy
- Attitude: reliable and responsible at work
- Construction, building supplies, logistics or a related setting: experience advantageous
- Current HR licence: highly regarded
- Small truck driving: experience advantageous
- Readiness to mix warehouse duties with local delivery runs
- Employment history: clear, demonstrable, verifiable and relevant to this position
- Able to satisfy Australian employment and, where applicable, visa requirements
