Warehouse Supervisor (2IC)

An Auckland warehouse needs a Warehouse Supervisor to act as second in charge. This is a real leadership step in New Zealand, not a stock-moving job.
Your core purpose:
- Keep warehouse activity organised from start to finish
- Make sure orders flow out efficiently
- Back your team and hold safety and accuracy to a high standard
What you must be able to prove: hands-on experience in logistics, inventory control, team coordination, customer service and daily warehouse operations.
Every applicant is assessed on experience, skills, work history and suitability. Applicants from Pakistan should have an English CV and clear employment records ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the warehouse floor each day and keep all operations coordinated
- Guide, motivate and support warehouse staff, building accountability, teamwork and a positive culture
- Run the goods cycle: receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, deliveries and customer collections, plus the timing of drop-offs and pick-ups
- Handle incoming shipments and unpack inbound containers with the warehouse work that follows, and move stock between internal locations
- Get customer orders out correctly and on time, tracking DIFOT and overall order performance
- Watch stock levels, keep inventory records and system data current, run cycle counts and chase down any discrepancies
- Rotate stock correctly and store products safely
- Keep the site efficient, tidy and well laid out
- Make sure standard operating processes and warehouse procedures are followed, and back compliance requirements and operational certifications
- Promote health and safety standards at work and monitor that they are met
- Plan staffing needs, bring in temporary labour when required and help the Warehouse Manager with planning and staffing
- Arrange servicing and certification of vehicles, machinery and equipment, keeping them and other company property in safe condition
- Complete operational paperwork, timesheets, reports and compliance documentation
- Find where processes can improve, bring in practical steps that lift efficiency and productivity, and work with the wider operations team on a better customer experience
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated background supervising warehouse, logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations
- A track record of leading or coordinating staff in a warehouse
- Hands-on stock control and inventory management know-how
- Has used inventory or warehouse management systems before
- Has handled customer orders, dispatch, deliveries, or collections, and puts customers first in warehouse work
- Knows the health and safety procedures that apply in a warehouse
- Works with confidence in a hands-on, on-the-floor warehouse setting
- Well organised, manages time well and can juggle several operational priorities
- Good spoken and written communication
- Sharp attention to detail and accuracy
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making
- Can lead a team and keep it motivated, and actively looks for operational improvements
- Upbeat attitude and keen to learn
- Can supply genuine, verifiable details of past employment and relevant experience
