Vacancy: Welder/Fabricator, Wetherill Park in Sydney, NSW. An established engineering and manufacturing business needs experienced First-Class Welder/Fabricators who can turn out precise, dependable fabrication in a professional workshop.

Applicants must be able to prove genuine trade experience, hold relevant qualifications and consistently work to engineering standards. Projects vary, and you will use your welding and fabrication skills to build and assemble quality engineered components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weld and fabricate to engineering requirements
  • Read technical drawings, plans and fabrication specs
  • Use MIG, TIG and Stick processes across different applications and welding positions
  • Measure, mark out, cut, prep and assemble material accurately
  • Fit up and align parts before final welding, producing sound, clean and consistent welds
  • Hold dimensions and tolerances throughout each job
  • Inspect finished work for compliance, quality and accuracy, and sort out any fit-up, welding or fabrication problems
  • Operate welding gear, workshop machines and tools safely
  • Manage your allocated workshop tasks efficiently and independently
  • Coordinate project needs with other trades and workshop staff
  • Keep workmanship and productivity high
  • Follow health, safety and quality procedures and keep your work area orderly and professional
  • Work overtime when needed, Saturdays included

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A recognised qualification in Welding, Boilermaking or Fabrication
  • Demonstrated background as a First-Class Welder/Fabricator
  • Strong hands-on experience in a heavy fabrication or engineering workshop
  • Practical MIG, TIG and Stick welding experience, welding confidently in multiple positions
  • Proven skill in reading and understanding engineering drawings
  • Strong fitting, assembly and fabrication skills
  • Works accurately with minimal supervision and shows commitment to precision and quality
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliable attendance and a strong, professional work ethic
  • Able and willing to work overtime regularly
  • Committed to Australian workplace health and safety standards
  • Can provide evidence of relevant qualifications and employment experience
  • Sponsorship may be available to suitably qualified, experienced candidates who satisfy the applicable visa and sponsorship requirements
