Key Responsibilities
- Cutting: modern fades, clipper cuts, scissor cuts and styling, delivered to a consistently high professional standard
- Grooming: beard trimming, grooming and shaving
- Consultation: discuss what each client wants and recommend styles to suit their preferences and appearance, making every visit professional and personal
- Repeat business: build long-term relationships and encourage clients to return
- Hygiene: keep hygiene, cleanliness and your workstation's presentation to a high standard, and help keep the shop welcoming and professional
- Ownership: take responsibility for the quality and consistency of every cut
- Communication: speak positively and professionally with clients and colleagues, adding to a collaborative, energetic team culture
- Trends and skills: stay current with barbering trends, products and techniques, and keep developing technical and customer-service skills
- Initiative: help the workplace run smoothly
- Representation: represent the business through professional conduct, presentation and workmanship
Requirements & Eligibility
- Qualification: a recognised Certificate III in Barbering, Hairdressing or equivalent qualification
- Experience: Minimum two years of relevant professional barbering
- Technical skills: demonstrated practical work with fades, clipper work and scissor cutting, plus competence in beard trimming, grooming and shaving
- Style knowledge: understanding of contemporary barbering styles and techniques
- Quality: strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Presentation: professional appearance and a reliable work ethic
- Client skills: strong communication and customer service, and the ability to build genuine client relationships
- Team attitude: positive and able to work effectively within a team, with a willingness to keep learning and developing
- Evidence: able to provide proof of relevant qualifications, plus verifiable employment history and industry experience
- Clientele: an existing personal clientele is advantageous but not essential
- Employment requirements: Must satisfy applicable Australian employment and sponsorship requirements
- Sponsorship pathway: Must be eligible for the relevant pathway where sponsorship is required
