Key Responsibilities
- Establish business requirements together with stakeholders, then document them as technical designs and specifications
- Develop applications in Python, React, JavaScript/Node.js and C#/.NET, test them and keep them maintained
- Design, build and maintain RESTful APIs
- Integrate applications with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Implement AI capabilities in applications, specifically automated workflows, large language model (LLM) integrations and chatbots
- Prepare data for machine learning, and build, train and evaluate models for classification, prediction and analytics
- Deploy applications to cloud environments, AWS or Azure, by means of CI/CD pipelines, and manage them after deployment
- Write unit and integration tests, troubleshoot issues, resolve defects promptly and attend code reviews, maintaining best practices in performance, code quality and security
- Prepare and maintain user guides, technical documentation and test records, and supply ongoing maintenance, enhancements and technical support to existing systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- Education to the level of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Commercial experience totalling a minimum of 3 years in software design, development and testing
- Strong programming skills in Python, and experience in C#/.NET, Node.js or React
- Proven experience of API design and of relational (SQL) database work
- Hands-on experience of AI/ML tools and frameworks, for instance TensorFlow, scikit-learn, PyTorch or the OpenAI API
- Sound understanding of version control (Git), testing methodologies and software architecture
- Experience of working within Agile or Scrum teams
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
