Position overview first. A growing FMCG business in Sydney is recruiting an Account Manager on a full-time, hybrid basis. The focus is independent retail customers.
The work follows a clear order. First, manage and develop your existing customer portfolio. Second, find ways to grow those accounts. Third, open new business. Fourth, track your sales results against agreed targets. Throughout, you own your territory and report insights back to the business.
The pay range is $110,000 - $120,000 per year + super. As the company expands, the role offers a route to a Business Manager position. Sponsorship may be available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the portfolio of independent customers and key accounts
- Build and keep long-term customer relationships
- Identify sales opportunities and grow existing accounts
- Develop new business
- Work with customers to understand needs and find commercial opportunities
- Monitor sales performance and achieve agreed targets
- Provide market and customer insights to the business, represent the brand professionally and own territory results
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commercially hungry, proactive and ambitious, with a hands-on approach
- Experience in FMCG, retail, wholesale, field sales or a related environment
- Strong understanding of retail and independent customers
- Proven experience in account management, sales or business development
- Strong commercial mindset focused on sales growth
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Confidence to identify opportunities and turn them into results
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
