This listing covers one position, Customer Service / Groomer, at a vehicle rental branch in Queenstown, New Zealand. Grooming refers to cleaning and preparing rental vehicles, not to animal care.
First comes the customer side, where you field phone queries, give advice and put together quotes and contracts for business, commercial and recreational travellers. Second comes the fleet side, where every vehicle has to be groomed, kept in good order and ready to go out. The small, hardworking team helps in all areas of the branch.
Terms are permanent and full time, 40 hours per week, rostered. Branch hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, and Saturdays end at 1.00pm. The sponsorship position is conditional. The employer would ideally recruit suitable and available NZ workers, and as an Accredited Employer with Immigration NZ it can consider candidates who require a work visa only when it cannot make such an appointment.

Key Responsibilities
- Attend to phone calls, giving sales advice and quotes
- Create contracts and complete the related transactions
- Coordinate the delivery and pick-up of vehicles and carry out both
- Complete office administration
- Maintain customer accounts
- Keep the vehicle and rental fleet of the branch groomed to the highest standards, with all necessary compliance checks carried out
- Help identify repair and maintenance issues, escalate them and manage maintenance and damages as required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Full Class 1 Driver Licence or overseas equivalent
- Computer skills, from basic to intermediate
- Previous experience in customer-facing service, ideally in the vehicle rental industry but this is not essential, plus previous grooming experience, which is preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, and a confident phone manner
- Excellent time management skills and great attention to detail
