A professional unisex salon in Tauranga, New Zealand, has full-time openings for experienced Hairdressers and Barbers. In short, the salon wants creative people to grow its team, and the work is a mix of hair care, styling and grooming for men, all done to a high standard.
Your day will be spent in a modern salon with air-conditioning. What matters most is simple: clients leave satisfied, and every task follows the salon's health and hygiene standards. The salon is an accredited employer, and visa sponsorship is available if required for a suitable candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Begin each appointment by agreeing the client's preferred cut, colour and style, including beard-shaping and grooming for men
- Taper, trim, shape and style hair with clippers, scissors, razors and other professional equipment
- Deliver beard and moustache trims, traditional wet shaves and hot towel treatments
- Wash, condition and treat the hair and scalp, finish styles with a blow dryer, straightener, curling iron and styling products, and advise each client on aftercare and the right products
- Apply and remove colour, tint, highlights and bleach, and carry out chemical straightening, relaxing and perming
- Keep tools, equipment and work areas maintained, cleaned and sanitised in line with salon hygiene and health and safety standards
- Arrange appointments, manage the schedule and process payments as required
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least two (2) years of full-time experience as a Hairdresser or Barber, as a minimum
- Proven technical skill in cutting, colouring and styling hair
- Proven technical skill in men's grooming
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on customer service
- Ability to work efficiently and cooperatively in a team
- Sound knowledge of salon hygiene and safety practices
