Here is the role in order. First, the employer is a growing primary-sector food manufacturer in Hamilton, New Zealand, exporting mainly to China and Southeast Asia. Second, the job is to own production planning and connect production with sales.
Third, the workload. The job is full-time at 40 hours per week, with additional hours in the deer velvet peak season, which runs through to February/March. The start date is as soon as possible, and you will manage one direct report as a first step into leadership.
Fourth, eligibility. Only candidates already based in New Zealand will be considered. The employer is accredited with Immigration New Zealand and welcomes those who require Accredited Employer Work Visa sponsorship, on the condition that they are in the country and have New Zealand work experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage production schedules within capacity, cost and quality targets
- Forecast demand
- Provide a longer-term operational outlook
- Improve the value of SAP by managing master data, inventories and bills of materials
- Coordinate supply chain activity, packaging suppliers and dispatch, and work with QA on traceability, MPI and export market requirements
- Connect production with sales
Requirements & Eligibility
- Manufacturing production planning experience
- Strong forecasting skills
- Hands-on ERP experience; SAP is strongly preferred, and training is available
- Food or primary industry manufacturing experience with QA knowledge
- Clear communication skills and confidence in managing customer expectations
- Practical, resilient and flexible attitude when deadlines move
- Team leadership, health and safety experience or knowledge of exporting to Asia is desirable
- Reference checks and a Ministry of Justice criminal record check will be done for shortlisted candidates
