Senior CNC Machinist Setter

Visa sponsorship

Manufacturing · Dunedin, New Zealand · Full-Time · $38 - $45/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored

A precision manufacturing company in Dunedin, New Zealand, is hiring Senior CNC Machinist Setters. The company has a staff of about 30 and makes high-mix, low-run components for sectors such as medical and aerospace.

The work covers mill-turn, Swiss-type and multi-axis CNC machining. Parts have complex geometries and demanding tolerances, and quality and repeatability are watched closely. The employer wants a self-motivated person who works independently, makes sound decisions and owns results within set processes.

Positions are permanent and full-time. Both day shift and night shift are available.

The company holds Accredited Employer status under New Zealand's AEWV. Potential immigration support, which can include sponsorship, is for exceptional candidates who closely match the skills, experience and attributes required.

  • Report programming or process issues upward when required, keeping in mind how tooling, offsets and parameters affect quality and productivity
  • Handle several machines and competing priorities in an orderly way
  • Deburr and finish parts so they are customer-ready when they leave the workstation
  • Coach less experienced staff, coordinate with programmers, quality staff and production leaders on delivery, and support ongoing improvement of machining standards
