An established transport company in Hamilton, New Zealand, is recruiting a Mechanic for permanent, full-time work in its onsite workshop. The role sits within a hands-on team responsible for the company's fleet of trucks, trailers and equipment.
The aim of the role is straightforward. Each vehicle must stay safe, reliable and fit for the road. To achieve that, you will carry out routine servicing and repairs, diagnose mechanical faults, complete inspections to identify upcoming maintenance, and take care of basic automotive electrical work. Every task is done safely and to a high standard, and the workshop is kept organised.
The company is an approved accredited employer with Immigration New Zealand (INZ), which allows it to sponsor workers on the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV).

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on the fleet
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults, including basic automotive electrical faults and repairs
- Inspect vehicles and identify maintenance requirements
- Complete all work safely and to a high standard, keeping the workshop tidy and organised
Requirements & Eligibility
- Qualified mechanic, or relevant mechanical experience
- Heavy vehicle, truck or trailer experience (preferred)
- Competency in basic automotive electrical work
- Strong work ethic
- Practical and hands-on
- Able to work independently
- Able to work as part of a team
- Committed to health and safety, and able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
