This vacancy suits an operator who already holds a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and wants to teach. A civil and mining training provider near Perth, WA, is recruiting trainers and assessors.
Here is how it works, step by step. Each student trains one-on-one on a live operating mine, and the aim is a safe, confident operator ready for employment. The positions are 1 Civil Trainer & Assessor (Monday to Friday, 8-12 hour shifts, alternating Saturdays available) and 1 Dozer / Excavator Trainer (production mining D11 and 3600, Monday to Friday, 8-12 hour shifts, hybrid across 2 mine sites).
The site is about 60 minutes north of Perth CBD, so this is non-FIFO work and you return home nightly. Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver nationally recognised training, then assess competency against the standard
- Coach machine operators individually, hands-on, at a live operating mine site
- Prepare students for actual jobs in civil and mining through mentoring
- Work to site procedures and best industry practice, complying with the WHS Act 2020, Mines Safety and Inspection legislation and RTO standards
- Sign off competence only where it is proven, and keep every training and assessment record accurate
- Support fellow trainers and keep sessions safe, professional and positive
- Mining trainer: cover civil courses during gaps in Dozer & Excavator programmes
Requirements & Eligibility
- Holds a current TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110 (any of these)
- Operating background on civil and mining equipment that is relevant to the role
- Supervision experience: desirable
- Stays effective under pressure and is decisive
- Comfortable with solo work and with teamwork
- Firm time management, crucial since customers have paid

- Proud to keep safety and training standards high
- Dependable, professional and on time
- Clears a pre-employment medical and daily breathalyser requirements
- Civil Trainer: current competency and experience in multiple civil plant items is highly regarded, including Front End Loader (RIIMPO321F), Articulated Haul Truck (RIIMPO337E), Rigid Haul Truck (RIIMPO338E), Skid Steer Loader (RIIMPO318F), Civil Construction Excavator (RIIMPO320F), Telehandler (RIIHAN309F), Integrated Tool Carrier (RIIHAN311F), Bulk Water Truck (RIIMPO206D) and Roller (RIIMPO317F)
- Mining Trainer: RIIMPO323E – Dozer and RIIMPO324F – Grader; RII qualifications are not required but desirable, and the civil plant units above are an added advantage
