A dementia care home in Christchurch, New Zealand, is recruiting a permanent Caregiver on a full-time basis. Before applying, look at these points in order.
First, visa support. The employer is an Immigration New Zealand Accredited Employer and can sponsor the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV). To be eligible for that support, you must hold a Registered Nursing degree, or a Level 3 or above caregiving qualification together with an International Qualification Assessment (IQA).
Second, the hours. You will work at least 30 hours a week and must be available for any shift, day or night.
Third, the pay. The hourly rate depends on your level: $23.95 for Level 1, $24.06 for Level 2, $26.16 for Level 3 and $28.25 for Level 4 and above. Duties cover personal care, care planning, progress reports, records and support for registered nurses.

Key Responsibilities
- Step 1: personal care for each resident, including showering, dressing, eating, mobility and communication, delivered holistically and in a culturally safe way
- Step 2: contribution to care planning and use of therapy plans for residents with dementia
- Step 3: observation of resident progress, with prompt reporting of any change in condition or care concern, and accurate, up-to-date records
- Step 4: support for registered nurses within their scope of practice

- Caregiving experience preferred; dementia care experience a strong advantage
