Key Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare meals so that they reach a high standard
- Check that quality, portioning and presentation do not vary between orders
- Carry out food safety, hygiene and cleaning duties as laid down
- Take part in stock control, place orders and rotate stock correctly
- Keep the kitchen safe, clean and organised, and cut food waste so operations stay efficient
- Cooperate with a busy team and give help with preparation and service as required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Earlier experience in the role of cook or chef
- Good understanding of food safety
- Good understanding of kitchen operations
- Ability to prepare meals that are consistent and high-quality
- Reliable, with the ability to work under pressure
- Good communication skills and good teamwork skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to live and work locally
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery preferred; in place of formal qualifications, relevant experience may be considered. Food Safety Certificate preferred
- Pre-employment medical, which includes a drug and alcohol test
