A country hotel in regional Victoria, near Sale, is hiring a full-time chef. The position sits within the hotel culinary team and centres on creative, high-quality cooking in a fast-paced kitchen.
The work breaks down into four parts. First, cooking and prep, done efficiently and to a high standard. Second, menu development with the Head Chef, covering new items and improvements to existing dishes. Third, a clean, hygienic and safe kitchen. Fourth, prompt service to guests and support with stock and supply orders.

Key Responsibilities
- Cook inventive dishes of a high standard and get through every prep and cooking job efficiently when service is quick
- Sit down with the Head Chef to plan new menu additions and lift the quality of current plates
- Maintain a spotless, orderly and sanitary kitchen
- Comply fully with food safety rules and workplace health and safety regulations
- Serve guests well and act on their requests without delay
- Count stock and place orders for kitchen supplies when asked
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 2 years spent working as a Chef/Cook in comparable hospitality venues
- Formal culinary qualifications or training, such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Excellent command of prep methods, cooking techniques and safe food handling practices
- Strong ability to manage time and juggle several tasks in a busy kitchen, and to operate as one member of a team
- Helps build a positive workplace culture and is passionate about producing high-quality meals and a better experience for diners
