A Japanese izakaya-style restaurant and bar in Perth, Australia, has a full-time opening for a Chef and Cook. The right person brings hands-on Japanese cooking and sushi experience.
Here is how the role is set up. The venue has moved into a new space in a large shopping centre and is adding staff. Shifts are split, 11:30 am to 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and the position is salaried. Service is high volume, covering Japanese and fusion dishes, and you will support menu development and quality control.

Key Responsibilities
- Cook Japanese and fusion dishes, including sushi, during both lunch and dinner
- Work as sushi chef or as an all-round cook as required
- Support menu development and carry out quality control
- Keep high standards in a high-end, high-volume setting while communicating well with the team
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 1 year working in a Japanese restaurant
- Previous roles as a sushi chef, all-rounder chef or cook
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and fusion cuisine
- Ability to assist with menu development and quality control
- Experience in high-end restaurant environments
- Experience in high-volume restaurant environments
- A strong sense of responsibility plus excellent teamwork and communication skills
