This is a full-time Sous Chef position in a high-volume café kitchen in Gold Coast, Queensland. The role is a step up into kitchen management, working closely with the Head Chef and a second Sous Chef.
The work falls into three parts. First comes service leadership, guiding the team through busy periods. Second is organisation, setting up prep, sections and daily operations. Third are standards for food quality, presentation, food safety and staff training.
The employer is willing to consider sponsorship for the right candidate. Two conditions apply, namely experience in a similar role and passing a 6-month probation period.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the kitchen team through busy services and support them throughout
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen management

- Manage daily kitchen operations
- Maintain food quality, presentation and consistency
- Ensure food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards, and train staff
- Run the kitchen when required and help keep the culture organised, positive and professional
Requirements & Eligibility
- Strong experience in a busy, high-volume café kitchen or similar
- Previous experience as Sous Chef, senior chef or supervisor
- Confidence in leading a team
- Ability to run a busy service with confidence
- Strong organisation skills
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable, calm under pressure and ready to take ownership
- Hands-on, works alongside the team and understands food quality and consistency well
- Available 5 days per week, including Saturday and Sunday
